Wianno Club wedding
Wianno Club wedding
Hey guys! Before I show you Judy and Anthony’s Wianno Club wedding, I want to talk about this beautiful Cape Cod wedding venue. The Wianno Club located in Osterville, and seats on the Cape Cod’s shore overlooking Nantucket Sound. The main building, Club House, is in the list of National Register of Historic Places since 1979.
The land where the Club located was a part of Plymouth settlers purchase from native Americans presented by Indian Chief named Sachem Iyanough. If you visit Hyannis, you can find his statue on the Main st. The name Wianno is how colonists pronounced the name Iyanough.
Native American Wampanoag tribe called this land Cotocheset, meaning “at the turning place.”
In 1873 summer hotel was built and named the Cotocheset House. The interesting fact is that the foundation of the Inn made of stones of American statesman Daniel Webster’s mansion in Boston that burned in 1872.
The hotel was destroyed by fire in 1887 but rebuilt in 1888. At this time, it got a unique style of architecture well-known as “Shingle Style” popular on Cape Cod back then and now.
In 1916 newly founded Wianno club bought the hotel property. Now members of the Club enjoy an 18-holes golf course, three private beaches, tennis courts and children summer camp.
Wianno Club can host all types of events: family gatherings, reunions, and weddings.
The guest of the Club said that the meal is one of the best in their lives. All because of talented Michael Pillarella, executive chef and founder of r the Cape Cod and The Islands Chefs Association of the American Culinary Federation.
